I am looking for suggestions of what to put on the cork float of my NOS 36 ford fuel sender . Keeping in mind of the gas that we have to run today .I want to install it later today before going to big cruise in at Mooresville NC.
Thanks Cheers Tony |

Tony you could dip it in gas tank sealant but the best solution would be to buy a brass float from someone like Drake for $10.00 G.M.

Use a brass float or get a plastic float that they use in new cars.

I don't think a 'real' cork float would be affected by today's gasoline-alcohol blends. So I wouldn't coat it with anything.

I have fixed many an old Ford float by putting a plastic float on froma junkyard Toyota.
The early 8's Corolla with the tank under the rear seat is the easiest. Lift the seat cusion and unscrew the sending unit and take off the float. It'll last and not leak like some brass ones will. |
