You can view the later Brazilian overhead valve version of the V-8 60 via the same youtube thread.

For those interested in researching the hemi headed version more, an alternate way is to look up Emi Sul for the Brazilian model engine that resembles the V8-60 Ardun.

Did anyone notice that the front fenders on the Vedette look a lot like the fenders on the '49 and '50 Mercurys?

The Vedette motors I've seen have a single water pump. Weren't the Vedette-style flatheads produced up to 1990?

I have a complete Vedette engine & yes a single water pump .
I believe these were built in franve 50s to 60ish & then built in Brazil till mid 60,s . I believe that was the end of production for them.
cheers

In fact the Vedette was originally designed in Detroit as a new US Ford for '48 or '49, but as the economy turned out to be much better than feared after WW2, demand for a larger car was anticipated & the smaller Ford design was given to Ford France. A new larger sized Ford was drewn for the US market & the Mercury kept its shape as originally intended.

(After WW1 US & the world got in a economic depression as the servicemen got home & didn't find work - fortunately this didn't happen after WW2)
