Does anyone know of a company that you might have delt with that manufactures reinforced rubber pads?

I do not know the wholesaler, but our local hardware store (Orchard Supply Hardware) sells a bulk industrial product called conveyer belt rubber, which is cloth reinforced rubber. It comes in 1/16th, 1/8th, 3/16ths and 1/4 inch thickness. I like it for body pads as its much stronger than the soft rubber pads sold by most A suppliers.

there is a place in Seattle called International belt 206 622 6034, they deal in conveyor belting. I think they will cut to size belting. at an extra cost. I normally cut my own out of what belting I have on hand. If you need some let me know.

There is a belting compay about 5 miles from me and I asked him if I could buy a piece for my Model A. He showed me a lot of different belting and gave me a piece for free.

McMaster-Carr carries reinforced rubber sheet in rolls in various thicknesses. When I restored my 155A, I was able to match, using material from McMaster, the original body pad material I removed from the Town Sedan. That material was fabric reinforced, 1/16" thick rubber. Don't forget tractor supply has assorted belting that works great with the cording you can buy it by the foot if you have one near you

The mats on golf cars are reinforced rubber.

I wonder why the parts houses don't sell the reinforced rubber, since it's available?

they would cost more money and some people out there think the ones they sell now are just fine. the ones that they sell are just rubber and they will compress over time and your body will go out of alignment, with the reinforced ones you will not have near that problem.

Do you think there really is a market for them? I have them digitized in SolidWorks and have thought about having a batch of them water-jetted out but I questioned whether most people would even pay the actual costs of labor & materials. I had kinda put it on the back burner just because I felt the interest would be low and not worth the hassle.

I was making they spacial order for people and you are correct most Model A people are not willing to pay for what it cost to cut them out. I do get some calls but not many. John

BOB the Nylon won't cut it at all, has to be the cloth that shows..
STEVE use Mc Master.. Carr works and looks great, you need to treat it a bit..PM me and I will tell you how

I have bought a couple of sets of the precut rubber pads from a local Model A store that do have the cotton cord in them. I wonder which company they came from?
