Default Can anyone identify this fan bracket?

I was wondering if anyone could identify this fan bracket. I was told it is somewhat unique in that it would turn on only after the temp increases and not immediately. I guess the idea is to allow for a faster heat up of engine in cold weather? Thanks!

I had one that looked very similar on a 1951 F4 flathead V8

Any idea about the operation I mentioned? I mean could this thing actually turn on only when it reached a certain temp?

That's a very common fan hub assy used on 40-48 Ford/Merc cars, 1949 Merc cars, and all 42-52 Ford trucks. It's not a temp controlled device....just an oil filled hub with the slinger to toss the oil around. This will tell you more about it:
