1940 Ford PU Windows
I'm building a 1940 Ford pickup and often see door windows for sale with frames around them. I was under the assumption that the glass windows simply rolled up into the felt track. Do the pickup windows need metal trim frames that go up and down with the glass? Thanks Barners.

Re: 1940 Ford PU Windows
The 40 pkps did not have the metal frames around the glass and broke often so Ford added the metal frames to get longer usage out of the glass in the doors... at least that is what I was told years ago by an old Ford pal of mine.

To my knowledge that metal frame was not put on until 1942. My 41 does not have the metal frame.
