Tires
Is there an outside and inside for Firestone tires? It seems the tires could be mounted either way, but maybe there is a preferred way to mount them. Thanks for any information about these tires. I am getting ready to mount them.

Re: Tires
There is usually a red dot on the tire. The red dot should be located at the valve stem.
I see that red dot mounted on the inside and usually every place where it should not be. This is something I learned as a small child of two. |

Re: Tires
They don' t have directional tread like some new cars and motorcycle...so I say it wouldn't make a hill of beans (performance wise) which way they were mounted

Re: Tires
I was told a long time ago Henry Ford insisted that the tires be clocked with Firestone logo and the valve stem together.....I dunno if thats a fact

It is funny what I remember about my childhood and I can not remember my PIN at the bank or where I put the car keys. I remember the red dot and the valve stem. |

Sorry your Dad passed so young, that's so sad. Chief made it to 94, and like you, I remember SO many small things he taught me & stuff we did together. Sometimes they were small stuff, but they're stuck in my brain!! Some folks think I make up some "Chief" stories, I DON'T!! Before he passed, I spent a week & a half asking him so many questions that I forgot to ask in the past, what a great time we had! He loved "A"s & hated "T"s and talked about Rajo Heads, Holly Hot Plate carbs, Ruxtells, & a lot of "T" stuff that was Greek to me! In poor times, he kept us eating by puttin' Model A's together & sellin' them dudes!! GO, CHIEF, GO!!! Bill W.
