'28 Sport Coupes and Others - Body Numbers Again ???

I'm looking for feedback on body numbers as found stamped on or near the front floor sill adjacent to the lower front floor board. This is an old topic but I'm looking at it from a different slant.

I'm specifically looking for two things. First, I'm looking ANY '28-29 body types with a stamping from Buffalo which would be in the form of "BO xxxx" where xxxx= a four or five digit number. Second, I'm looking for ANY and ALL available body numbers (regardless of branch) on '28-29 Sport and Business Coupe models only.

For a while I was keeping a file of these numbers. Are you just looking for the plant numbers or do you want any additional information such as body type, engine number, gas tank number, location and etc.

July 29 unrestored Sport Coupe I have had since '62.

Additional info:
Firewall is stamped 7-15-29
Engine is 1,995,xxx so is July, 29

I double checked there are not any other letters in front of the O.

The first 8 is not clear.

Could you post examples of the fonts .. it might be a 3.

The Coupe said "quit messing around ... let's go driving!!"

It is in the mid 60's and going to 70 they say ...

Mine is on passenger side on the cross member between the seat and the floor board, I did not have to remove floor board, just lift rubber mat.

Hi Marco.
I have been keeping records of body and engine numbers for some time. Some of these were compiled by a friend of mine, now deceased. The records were kept if possible, where the original ownership papers were intact, showing the original engine number and in many cases this engine was still in the car concerned. If there were any unusual aspects of the car i.e. a 'BO' number, the records were kept. All the 28/29 body numbers had a prefix of 'F'. (The very last of the 29 bodies used the later body numbering system.) The 'BO' was something unusual and the records were kept anyway. At that time we did not know what 'BO' stood for.
As I have said on an earlier post on Ford Barn, very few of our (Canadian) cars here had a frame number to verify the original engine number, and some of the cars at the time of record keeping were in use and could not be checked for a frame number anyway.
I have 2 in my lists with a body stamping of BO.
As follows:
BO13376. 1928 Sport Coupe. Engine number CA67299.
BO11509. 1928 Sport Coupe. Engine number. No engine. This car was under restoration at the time. Strangely, both these 2 cars were owned by the same person. The owner was trying to make one car from the two, but he only had one engine and could give us no more info on that vehicle.
On the records, we kept as much info as possible, such as the owner, engine and body number, body style, where the car was first registered, firewall date, present owner at the time, licence plate number, and any unusual aspects of the car, I.e., emergency brake on the right hand side beside the door. All our cars being RHD. Also early wheels, stub axles, woven radiator shell lacing, hood louvers, etc etc.
The earliest body number on our records is F85. CA10747. A 28 Roadster Pick-up. I have lists of many early cars and also some 1930 Phaeton records. I and can copy and post if you are interested. A lot of these records go back to the late 60's.

Made a special trip to the storage unit to get the number. 0002760 No letters at all. Business coupe that was sold new in Carpio ND.

I looked at Steve Plucker's site and saw that there is no listing for the letter "O" and that Omaha, NE has (??) in the listing.

We bought it in Northeastern CO, close to Nebraska in 1962.
Could my car had been assembled in Omaha?

Dave Sturges' listing has (??) for Omaha also.

29 Sport coupe. Body 50A. #043331, passenger side. I have no history of the car and no frame stamping. I hope this helps.
