Default What is fair value of set of five 1935 wheels?

I have a set of five 1935 wheels in very good condition. No bent spokes, no cracks. Just need paint or powder coating to be ready to roll.

A friend wants to buy these wheels from me, and I'm willing to sell them to him. We both want a fair price, but aren't sure what that might be.

Any ideas?

Maybe $30.00 each.

Different areas of the country have different pricing - if you advertised these on the HAMB with pics and they are as nice as you say they are, they might go above $60 each, perhaps as high as $75 each.

So, you have $30 vs possible $60-75 - if they are nice, and you are selling to a friend (who would treat you the same way should the tables be turned), I would do $45 each, $225 total. In my neck of the woods (and in the circles I'm in), clean (make that no pitting) 35 rims are tough to come by.

As Tom said... depends on where you are. 16-in 35's have mostly been freebies in my area. I know of several for sale, and the only ones that change hands are the 'gimmies'. I acquired a set recently, the previous owner tried to sell them cheap, no luck, and in the end, he delivered them to me, free. JMO...

Wow, that's something - it seems 16" 35 wires go rather quickly on the HAMB, especially if they are nice ones. The ones I've sold have been decent with some pitting here and there and have gone for $50 each mostly.

I sold a set of 5 pit free 35 wire wheels for $75 at Charlotte after having hauled them to multiple meets for several years.

You can easily pay the equivalent of $100 a wheel over here in the UK. I swapped a set for a set of '40 steels recently and we were both happy.

$75 ea minus $35 ea. for blasting and powdercoat/prime and you have $200 for 5. That sounds fair to me.
