Default Running V-8 Style waterpump on Model A

I've seen an adaptor to run a 35 style waterpump on a Model A. I imagine you block of the origiginal top waterneck located on the head and utioize the top neck of the 35 style pump . Has anyone done this conversion and if so what is your opinion of it.
Thanks

I haven't done it, but where do you put the fan?

I've been looking at this swap. Most of the people running these pumps aren't running a fan. Others run an electric one.

Yes, you block off the the original "waterneck" and use the top neck of the 35 pump. As others have stated the problem for normal street driving is the lack of a fan mount. This is more of a hot rod conversion although many have installed aftermarket electric fans. But a good rebuilt stock "A" or "B" pump works very well. IMO

All of these V8 pumps are not the same. The originals had 3 vanes, most rebuild kits now come with 4 vane impellers. Some will put out so much volume that it throws water out the stock overflow tube, some do not. I went to a pressurized system to prevent this on my '30 tudor. Just be aware that this could happen to your engine too. I like these pumps because they have a carbon seal and last many years, unlike most "leakless" A pumps.
