Default Out of a Cow Barn Today

I almost drove off the road seeing this 1941 Mercury station wagon. Moving from an unheated cow barn to an environmentally controlled storage faciiity. The MA inspection sticker is from 1972! The lady told me it is not for sale. The first Merc woodie I have ever seen, gorgeous, unmolested and complete!!!

Now that's cool, the first year Merc built a wagon.

What a stunning vehicle. Just shows, they are still out there. Hopefully it'll remain original.

No I didn't see the mileage. The lady owner wasn't forthcoming ontalking about the car, only saying it wasn't for sale. I'm sure it's not going to be turned into a hot rod.

If someone did win the lottery and find one in that condition for sale, what would be a starting price?

More than I could afford. But it's still nice to be able to drool over it.

Really amazing find. But why was she so cagey on the car? If it's been sitting since the seventies , why no sale? .I am afraid something is going to happen to it that won't be good.. Keep us posted

I'll ask some of the old timers around here as to who who owns the car. She also pulled a 1937 Buick roadster out of the barn along with the Merc. I didn't post them originally because it ain't a Ford. But it is a gorgeous dual spare, rumble seat, straight 8 Buick!! Please forgive me!

No apologies required! That Buick is a beauty that anyone would love to own. In fact if I had to choose between it and the Merc Woody, it would be tough. I'm a Ford guy, but I worked on and drove a 31 Willys-Knight, and would be proud to own it.

35 Woodie, just because I'm wondering, whats the deal with all the sail boats? Were these cars stored with all these boats?
