Default Gas under carbs on manifold

About 350 miles on my build. I’m noticing it looks like gas is leaking out of the carbs onto my manifold. Is this a float issue? New genuine stromberg 97’s. Fuel pump is a stocker rebuilt by me.

Have you checked your fuel pressure? These carbs don't like anything over 2-2 1/2 psi.

How does it run?

Runs great. I haven’t checked the pressure yet as honestly…I don’t know how while running?! But I do have the tool. Probably time to check.

Check its not leaking from the "access to jet screws" at the bottom of the float chamber.

I had that leak issue and it was the gasket seal issue at the jet access screws. I took the 3 screw caps out and used Blue Hylomar in a tube, wiped it on those 3 thin gaskets, reassembled, let dry and no problems after that

I was going to guess the jets plugs too. It does not look like it has too much fuel pressure and it's overflowing out the top of the carb, it's nice and clean up there. It's something down below, should be easy to find the leak.

Agreed with the area by the jet screws. While running, take a clean paper towel and wipe around those areas. If you have gas on the paper towel, you found the leak.

My hunch is also the Jets. If my float was too high or the fuel pressure too high I’m assuming it would leak out the top? It’s definitely leaking from the bottom. Both carbs though. Should I be using sealer on the jet threads?

You shouldn't have to, but may need to. Have you called Stromberg? Those carbs looks brand new and I know they aren't cheap.

NO, it might be leaking from those or 1 of those 3 caps at the bottom of the bowl. Just a sealer that gasoline won't affect on those gaskets.Just squeeze a bit on your finger and wipe it on each side.Stromberg in UK recommended Hylomar blue so bought it off Amazon.

Jet screws. They could have put a patent on that leak.

Hylomar was developed by the R.A.F. for fixing persistent fuel leaks in the Rolls Royce/ Merlin Spitfire aircraft engines during WWII. You might say it helped win the war!
