Got a nice starter on order from cwmoss. They said they don’t have issues with them but I asked to look to see where it was made and they said there were no stickers showing country of origin. We’ll see. I’m skeptical now.

I took apart the power master. Didn’t see anything real obvious but I also have never take apart a starter before. There is one spot (first photo) that looks like maybe it shorted out or something. Anyway, I saved all the magnets and threw the rest in the garbage.

Starters are not too complex, and original fords are quite good. Take yours apart, if it only needs bushings and brushes its not a big deal to do yourself. If not, surly there must be a rebuilder or 5 in denver
