Kh cateye hi po 15" wheel galaxie
Hi,
My son needed one more KH CATEYE HIPO 15" wheel for his 1961 Galaxie. He got one but I have a question. It is exact in every way CATEYE CUT OUTS , KH AND FORD STAMPS, sloped rear center but is riveted instead of welded? Late replacement? Thanks Steve |

Maybe Kelsey-Hayes changed the design after a few years?

Quote:
The 1960 HP wheel was 15 X 5 and the 1961/64 HP wheel was 15 X 5.5. Welding instead of riveting began in the mid-fifties (makes a stronger wheel assy).

Hi Daves55 & Kultulz,
Thanks for the responses. Yes I was wondering if for some reason they made a few riveted ones. Its at my sons right now but will look again but so far no date codes. Yes they are the 5.5. Thanks again Steve |

Went to my sons and we got to look at the wheel close. It is a cateye clone someone made up once we got to look at it close. Thanks to everyone Steve |
