I would ask this question over on the HAMB. You will probably have better luck. From a personal view I am not a fan of the one piece windshield in 39/40 Ford cars or trucks.

I second asking on the HAMB. There is a company that will cut glass to your dimensions. A few guys have used this company and they clearly explain how to make the template for them to use.

I thought all side window glass had to be tempered? Regardless the side windows that Street Rod Glass did for my p/u were tempered and it makes sense safety wise.

I have used both my local glass companies by making a cardboard pattern and bringing it to them, well-labeled.
They buy large sheets of 1/4 inch laminated glass (2 thin sheets bonded with a plastic layer in between that measures 1/4 inch total thickness) and cut it/sand it to fit my patterns. If the glass breaks, the glass stays attached to the plastic, making it safe. It's what modern windshield are made of. You don't want tempered glass as if it shatters while you are driving, you have a million little sharp pieces flying at you.
They have it available have it either clear or tinted(green or grey).
It cost about $75 for each side glass and $100 for a windshield and $50 for the rear glass of a 1932 Sedan.

US DOT regulations require the use of laminated (AS1, Category II) safety glass for all automobile windshields. Last I read.

How do you make a 1-piece windshield for a 40? I can envision a 2 piece with no trim in the middle.

From the web:

All of the glass in your car is safety glass. The windshield is laminated glass so when a rock or pebble is kicked up from the road, it may break the windshield glass, but it will just crack and remain in tact. The doors and back glass of the vehicle are normally tempered glass, however some manufacturers have switched to using laminated.

I've been using tempered side glass for at least 25 years with laminate for the windshield I was using Street Rod Glass back when it was The Glass House.

One of the biggest benefits to having the laminated safety glass cut locally is that you can take it back for any minor adjustments. Our glass shop was able to sand off that crucial 1/16 of an inch and round over a corner from my inadequate pattern.
