Default hanging 1940 front sheetmetal

When I purchased my 40 coupe the front sheetmetal had been removed. Now that I have most of the mechanical/electrical issues solved, it's time to re-hang the front end. I have done a number of 33-34 and 35-36 cars and since the front sheetmetal pieces all are interrelated there seems to be an order to the assembly...sorta like a puzzle. Never worked on a 40 before, but it's gotta be similar, in that it goes best if part A is mated to part B prior to installing parts C,D and E.

What/how have you fellas found to be the best way to hang the front sheetmetal on my 40?

It's easier if the hood hinges are still in the stock location on the cowl. In any case, be patient and keep remembering:
"I am not the first person to do this."

Thank you! I will read and re-read the linked posts. I would NEVER have guessed that the hood goes on first. Yes, thankfully the hinges are still on the cowl.

Mixed bag. A lot is original but had some cosmetics/re-paint many years ago...when exactly I don't know. Chassis, running gear and most of the trim seems original; interior mostly so as well. The paint is now failing/blistering all over due to age and being in unheated Seattle-area storage. But it's got the original Columbia 2 speed, jump seats etc.. Just got most of the mechanical/electrical worked out after sitting for years.

Gee, wonder what the cost was for the Columbia option?

I suspect tongue-in-cheek? When I say original I mean only that the rearend, spring, controls etc. seem to be age/use-appropriate to the rest of the chassis. Was it dealer-installed in the car originally or done at a later time..???Who knows.

Thank you. The wheels are black with trim rings and caps PLUS another inner trim ring that is held on by the small hubcap, giving the look of an almost all chrome rim. This car has previously been "over accessorized" in my opinion. Never seen these inner trims before, but that goes for a lot of other things as well.
