Fuel Lines
Picked up a fuel line kit as I need to replae the shut off vavle and the lines in the engine compartment are rusted. It came pre-bent wth fittings, but the ends were not flared. Do they need to be flared? My repair book is coming, but as always am impatient for it to arrive. Thanks for the help with the beginning of my truck advendtures.

Re: Fuel Lines
The gas line does not use a flare to seal it. The ferule seals the joint. Set the ferule about 1/8" from the end of the gas line and tighten the nut. The ferule will shrink to the gas and remain there.
A tip: place the ferule 1/8" from the end of the line. Place a mark behind the nut to use as a reference when tightening.
