Re: spark plugs
I ran a set in my dads 46 coupe because he said it was starting, running funny and I had a set ordered from NAPA. I don't know number off hand but it did improve the car in a drastic way, why I do not know but it ran great. I will look for the number.

Re: spark plugs
I believe it is NGK B6L - should be a direct replacement for a Champion H-10

Re: spark plugs
I prefer Champion 844 plugs, other folks prefer Autolite 216s.

Re: spark plugs
My '47 59AB came with Champion H-11 in it and are still running well. Seem to burn correctly. May consider NKG's when ever they wear out. Although "modern" engines, have NKG's in our two 2003 1.8 turbo VW's .... first set replaced at 80,000 miles. The second set now have 35,000 on them.

Re: spark plugs
We were running NGK B-6L and having issues with occasional plug fouling on a cold start , switched to hotter B-4L problem solved, though we possibly could have got away with #5 but the #4 was on the shelf. The motor is modified some.

Re: spark plugs
B6L are the best plugs I have ever run! Autolite 437's are great but too long for stock heads.

Re: spark plugs
I like the NGK B6L over any other plug that I've used - and I've used just about all of them. Just runs and lasts the best. I've never found a reason to go hotter with the B4Ls, but some folks do.

Re: spark plugs
NGK B6L the best I have ever run. If you're running stock and 6 volt like me I like .025 gap.

Re: spark plugs
I did a search for USA manufactured spark plugs and "no results found". Maybe I didn't ask the question correctly.
I have never had a problem with Champion plugs. I'm not sure why they are out of favor. Perhaps the (I think) Mexican manufacture location? |

Re: spark plugs
On Navarro and Offy heads that I have B6L plugs are too short and very prone to fouling .....
