Default '40 radiator, clean excess flux residue/solder off tank.

Need some suggestions for cleaning excess solder and flux residue of this original '40 radiator brass top tank. I don't want to paint the top tank.
Thank you Fordbarners. Please see photos.

A Scotchbrite twistlok on a 90° air tool worked for me.

That's a great idea. Be sure and stay away from the seams.

I would be careful, as that looks like it may be a repair job that could be compromised by removing too much. I don't think it came that way from the factory.

x2- use one with fine grit if you plan to polish the top tank, minimizes the scratches.

Kube, That's the special order 40 radiator with the centered "top fill" and heavy duty top tank that did not have a split core. It is very rare. Just kidding.

I have heard of those. Must be rare.

My '41 was similar except the front corners and core were angled off at a 45 degree angle, all the way top to bottom

1941 also used a split core design. I was just having some fun initially - attempting to point out this is not a '40 radiator. It appears to be a much later "service" part.

It looks like it needs a repair at the rad. shop first. Isn't the side plate detached?
Is the radiator a Canadian military pattern one?
