This has been discussed before. I believe you can do a search for some of those threads. Many have done this swap. It takes a special kit...

This form is for asking questions about your a. Don't every be sorry for posting here. The t-5 was used in several cars and trucks including the mustang.

The s10 trans is the most widely used due to its more forward mounted shifter.

You can remote the shift lever from any T5 to whatever forward or rearward position you want. Here's two examples of relocated shifters. It would be pretty simple to make one and use a stock shift lever in the exact stock A location.

What years Ranger transmissions work for this conversion. I have access to several 93-94 models.

The Rangers from 1989-2000s used a Mazda 5 speed (M5OD) trans with a cast aluminum case that was unitized with the bell housing. (Some 1991-earlier ones used the Mitsubishi 5 speed that has a removeable bell housing.)The 1988-1996 F150 had the same Mazda trans, but the case bolt pattern varied across engine configs, as did the Ranger. So, adaptation would be tricky with a non-removeable bell housing. The earlier F150 Tremec conversion has been mentioned before as one that "looks" close to original.

MikeK, who makes/and-or sells those gearbox lever re-positioners for the T5?
