Question sending unit ohms

Can someone please provide me with the ohm reading range on a 36 gas tank sending unit. Thank you.

Frank: The early fuel tank sending units up to 1955 are King-Sealy units that do not work on the ohms principle. They work based on the heat generated by a bi-metallic strip. Therefore ohms reads are inaccurate and do not apply. Peruse these links for more info.

Thanks, then how should they be tested?

Six volt battery, original fuel gauge, gas tank sender. Ground all three together, Positive or negative doesn't matter. Othe side of battery to battery side of fuel gauge, tank sender to sender on gauge. Move sender slowly, gauge should react but it will be slow. Now that's if everything is out of car.
