Been messing around with my clutch and during this process thought it would be good to freshen up on the fuel side with a Stromberg 97 from Uncle Max. Would like to share the great experience.
Contacted Uncle Max and asked about a 97 and could he supply a core for rebuild as from NZ shipping is costly, its how it is.
He gave me the price and said he does them to order and would be onto it that week. Couple of days later he advised it was on the way expected 7 to 10 days. Received it Friday in the time frame given. Woo door to door from decision time to purchase to receipt of a great carb just over 2 weeks USA to NZ. Well packaged and a lovelt sight to see.
Fitted on the car, fired up right away, no adjustment required save for idle.
Road tested and respose and operation great. Was all set up with provision for throttle connection and fitting wet great.
Also to this gentlemans credit payment was not required prior to dispatch.
Pay me when you get it was his extremely kind offer. Which I did.
I know those of you who have dealt with Uncle Max will endorse my comments. However to get this kind and helpful service to us down under also is much appreciated.
A great guy who then also forwarded some more Stromberg carb infor for the future.
