Default Shoebox wiring question

I have a new wiring harness for the dash forward on hand for my'51 Tudor. Does the rear body/taillight harness go forward above the headliner or along the floor and door sill plate? Thanks for any info.

Drivers side inside the channel created by the roof framing, I would not go there unless you plan on replacing the headliner, which normally requires removing the back window. Because Ford did it does not make it a good idea. Mice love to nest in that channel.

My convertible goes under the sill plate. Then it goes to the rear quarter and into the trunk.

Don, thanks for the response. I had a hunch this would be the case, and the headliner and windlace will get replaced,..... just not now. I will just have to mend some of the wiring near the taillights for now.

Hmmm, so I could route the harness using the convertible path. I see the rear harness for convertible is about $75.00 more than the other body styles. I imagine there is more wire for the top pump and switch?

Try routing it that way to see if it works. You do not need the convertible harness. If it works go with that for now and then you can correct it when you do the headliner if you choose to.

My 1949 Fordor runs along the floor and drivers sill. The only wiring going toward the headliner is for the courtesy lights.
Check any wiring diagram in any of Fords Chassis Parts and Accessories Catalogue -- wiring to the rear -- goes on the drivers side floor.

I checked the diagrams, for 51 it shows wires above over the doors and below at the rockers. My 50 did not have factory signals and the wiring is in the roof. I think you get to take your pick, not a tough one to figure out.

Don, with the previous responses, and with seats and everything coming out for carpet, I'm going to run wires through quarter, along floor and under sill plates. I'll remove old wiring above headliner (if that's where it is) when replacing headliner next year. Everybody's responses most appreciated!
