Default King pin kit

Hi guys
I bought a king pin kit from Rockauto and I tried to test fit the bushing on the pin buy hand and cannot even get it started. Are they normally that tight.

After installing they need robe fitted to the diameter of the pin, they should not fit over the pin either in or out till fitted

Perhaps reaming, but sunnen hone with long mandrel that goes through both bushings--- same if using reamer, reamer has to pilot off other bushing to keep both holes in line

The brass bushing needs to be line bored after installation so I would say that they should not fit over your king pin until installed and bored.

Take the spindle and your bushings and pins to an automotive machine shop and have them fitted properly. There should be zero play.

In the "old days" we tended to use what are called "king pin reamers" - pretty much everybody had them. They work okay - especially if they are new and designed to pickup both bushings. In today's world, I take the spindles to a machine shop that has long mandrel honing equipment - such that I have them "honed to fit" - and the pins should be a very tight fit. If they don't have a hone that picks up both bushings - then find another place - as both need to be sized at the same time (to keep the alignment correct). Another option is to get in touch with "Okie Joe" who drops axles - he can do the fitment for you (at least I had him do my 32 spindles when he dropped an axle for me). Good luck!

All good advice. I've seen too many people chuck up a reamer and ream one side and flip the spindle over and then do the other and can't figure out why they have to pound in the king pin.
