Default Removing bulb contacts from socket

Have some nice tail light housing for the '40 I would like to remove and replace the old deteriorated wires. Is there a way to pull the bulb contacts/springs and wires up through the socket for replacement ? Thank you.

First, file off the outside of the rivets holding the bulb holder in place. Knock the rivets out and remove the bulb holder to change the wiring. Re-assemble the bulb holders with the new wiring into the tail-light bucket and pop rivet the assembly in place.

Thank you. That's what I figured I had to do, but was looking for an easier way.

Bob Drake lists the new tail light wires which includes the fiber wafer. That is easier if he still carries them. In the catalog the part number is 40-13410-A, $6 ea.

The Drake product uses a single spring to serve both contacts. Considering the drop in voltage associated with weak contacts, I don't trust this method. I don't think anyone makes a socket as original, having a separate spring for each contact, so restoration once again is better than reproduction.

Check a local parts store - some have the inner part (contacts with wires) in their electrical parts section

I did what Nick suggested, and that way I don't get stuck with imported junk from the likes of Vintque.
