Sometimes I think it was the hardships of the Depression and WW II that made that generation "the greatest generation".

It's been all down hill since, IMO and it doesn't matter which country you call home.

My friend’s Mom grew up on a farm in western Wisconsin where their only contact with the outside world was when the postman showed up once a week. A little different now...
