Smile Twin x 2 speed rear end

Hello all! Just bought a twin x 2 speed rear end yesterday off a hotrod builder who bought an old model A it was under he had cut the rear end out to put in a 9" ford. I bought the old twin x off him for $400.00 it is a 1600T I got the shifter and linkage too. It still shifts and the old grease is still in it. There's very little info. that I can find on line about it, other then they are rare and hard to find hope to put it in my coupe. Can anybody tell me more about the twin x 2 speeds? Thanks in advance for any posts.

Call Ron Miller with Ron's Machine in Shandon, Ohio. He has one and is very familiar with them.

Search this forum for info. There was a guy here who had one and he actually sold that car last year I think.

Update on myTwin-X two speed rear end it had been underground up to almost the center of the axle for fithy years or more I'm trying to free the hubs from the the axle's. I put the hubs in pans of vinigar to free the shoes and loosen up the adjusters and arms, its working but is slow going. The guy I bought it from cut the drive shaft 5" from the banjo I hope to reuse the the pinion gear on an old shaft and tube I have can this be done if it is preloaded? I called Miller bro's for info. They said that their's was not rebuild , but it works well. I feel like it would be easier to find a double yoke egg from a albino pigiien than to find info. on theses Twin-X model A two speed axle's. One thread had a ad for Twin-X that's good info. 45 mph on odometer is 60 mph in in higheay speed. Thanks Ol Shakey
