The armature was tested for opens, shorts and grounds. The commutator was trued on a lathe and mica undercut. The windings were sealed with Glypytal. It has a new sealed double row angular contact bearing with custom machined bearing spacers. New field coils, brushes, brush springs, insulator, wiring, and oilers. The original "B" marked Ford cutout was serviced including dressing the points, checking point alignment and gap, and air gap. Then it was set up with a power supply and point closure voltage set to 6.5 - 6.8 volts. It was painted to resemble the original finish and completed with new insulators and hardware. The generator has been run on my test stand for about 30 minutes and the 3rd brush set for daytime driving. A very nice original Ford generator, ready for many years of trouble-free use. Check out the photos. Price s $325 plus shipping and insurance. Please PM if interested, I can email a video of it running on my test stand. Glad to answer questions about it. |
