Default quality window crank handles?

I've now broken two of the scroll style (town sedan) repro window crank handles, and I'm now wondering whether there is a more durable option that someone might know of? I would sacrifice authenticity for durability.

Judging by the cross-sectional view of the broken handles, I am surprised they hold up as long as they do--they look quite thin and fragile. My understanding is that the originals were also pot metal, so, unlike the situation with many parts, you can't count on originals being better

Thanks!

Steve

Where do they break, and is the window too tight in the channel?

This is the first time I've heard of this problem.

My Town Sedan windows roll up and down quite easily; can't understand why they would break unless something is binding.

I don't know if all the suppliers use the same source, but I have had good luck with the handles purchased from Brattons. I have Craig Riker in Ohio re-plate them to get rid of the Taiwan look.

I've had the exact same problem, broke 2 of the scroll window cranks. They were extremely thin castings. The new replacements from snyders are much better quality.
