Need a Radiator for l949 Ford Car
Mine sprung a lead just below the top tank in the center of it. It has been reworked before and maybe it can not be fixed. If not I need a new one. I looked in Carpenter, Speedway and Mac's catalogs and they
don't list one.....Someone must sell them? |

I have no experience with this company, but I hear them mentioned on the forums.

Go to the website of US Radiator. They have them in copper/brass and aluminum.

I hear there some really cheap aluminum ones on eBay. Probably not the best, but if you're in a budget bind, the may be a way to go. (A friend of mine let the jack down prematurely on his 2009 BMW 328 and wrecked his radiator. An aftermarket replacement cost him $69 and seems to work just fine!)

If your tanks are in good condition, replacing the core is easy. Stay away from those el cheapo aluminum that are off shore copies.

Re: Need a Radiator for l949 Ford Car
Thanks for the replies. Monday AM I'm taking the radiator to the repair shop and see if the top tank can be removed and the tank re-soldered to the my old core.
The cores must be good because I have never had an over heating problem with this car. If that doesn't work, I will see about a new one. I see in my 2003 catalog from C & G. they were $350. Should have bought one then. I have two cars that use the same one. |
