Default Help - where do I get 1932-34 headlight bulbs

Ford Barners,

A headlight bulb on my stock 1934 Ford pickup burned out placing me in need of a stock 6V replacement bulb.

I ordered one (part no. B-13007-D, Macs part no. 64-26254) from Macs over two months ago. It failed to arrive with the rest of my order and Macs listed the bulb as back-ordered. I continue to receive email updates with an expected ship date but the quoted date slipped 3 times already and still no bulb.

I then ordered one last week from Dennis Carpenter (part no. B-13007-2320) and the incorrect bulb showed up. The 1932-34 Fords require a bulb that possesses a bayonet base with alignment pins – similar to parking, tail or other lights. The bulb I received has a flange with three locking slots identical to the 1935-39 Ford headlight bulbs. A closer look at both the Dennis Carpenter website and the catalog show the flanged bulb picture linked to the 1932-34 Fords application instead of a bayonet base bulb. I contacted Dennis Carpenter and his staff provided cheerful help and checked out their parts bin but both the 32-34 and the 35-39 bins contain bulbs with the flanged base – no bayonet base bulbs at all.

I searched Ford Barn and found only one recent (2015) thread regarding 1932-34 headlight bulbs:

https://www.fordbarn.com/forum/showth...headlight+1934

The thread basically states the same dilemma and confirmed an incorrect Carpenter bulb supply. This thread also mentions C&G Ford parts didn’t have the bulb as of Apr of 2015. I did not try them however but I will tomorrow.

So, this all begs the following question: If Macs lacks inventory and Dennis Carpenter’s bin contains the wrong bulbs, what options do I have to obtain the correct 6V bulb? Anyone with a tip?

Thanks, Dan

Here are some 32/32 candle power on epay and they have the correct inverted V
shaped filaments. http://www.ebay.com/itm/9-VINTAGE-GE...1XnI2w&vxp=mtr

The number for the 50/32 candle power bulbs is 1188.

Check with these folks if you might be interested in halogen bulbs with the original style bases.....

A&L Parts Specialties in Canton, CT carry the right bulbs. They are carryover Model A parts.

Most if not all new bulbs I have seem have one of the filaments shaped wrong, they should both look like an inverted V for proper focusing.
