Default Model B Carb question

I just purchased a B carb, with the rectangular float, a B-2 version..
It does not have the Float Chamber baffle. I have run it and it seems to run well.
my question is were the float chamber baffles discarded for a reason or do I need it to have the carb operate correctly.

Thanks
Paul

Hi Paul, this was discussed recently:
https://www.fordbarn.com/forum/showthread.php?t=248944

The consensus was that the baffle is not essential.
