Do I have the pricing correct? Seems expensive. $73.00 for 2 BA15S LED headlight bulbs.

old31. Yes you did the math correctly- I think it was 82.00 total to get it to the States.

I like them thou. Is it worth 82 bucks? who knows. They are brighter and give a nice white light, .
Just need to get the lights aimed correctly.

I use an LED in my dash light... Specs say: 96 Lumins of warm white light. But then again my system is 12v.

Yeah, much greater variety in 12V.

Looking at the construction of those bulbs, I wonder what the focus pattern looks like. -?

I saw one at Hershey, the focus pattern is sort of a figure 8 and fuzzy
The original bulbs have a V shaped filament, gives a sharp focused beam with clear edges without the lens at 20 feet just a little larger than the diameter of the light, the halogen bulbs I have use straight filaments, the focus is a little larger and some fuzzy edges--- so 1/32 makes a difference, the led bulbs move the light 1/8", and only 2 spots of light-- I think s lens could be designed to work with them, when led bulbs are OE the reflector is much different, sort of a cut in 1/2 rams horn

The real test is not how brilliant they look looking close, but how far the concentrated light is projected down the road---- most electric poles have reflectors, my car lights them up 8 poles away, about 1/3 mile--- 35 watt halogens, everything else original, including generator, never charged except by driving, I am going to try some hid bulbs, but for low beam it will have to tilt the bulb

That one might do if soldered into a BA15S base, but voltage spec at 9-14V.
The only 6V BA15S offered by superbright these days is forward firing.
Maybe a 12V (AC/DC) @ 250 lumens or so would work. LEDs are usually dimmable.

That one appears identical to the one from GB, down to the same number printed on it, except different size print. Half the price, guaranteed, but probably not pre-tested.

I'm still skeptical about the focus; Henry's reflectors just weren't designed for them.

OK, the LED I used from Superbright fit the stock dash light with no modifications. So I guess I'm mistaken.

Badpuppy, do you know what base fits the stock dash light? I have a list of LEDs I bought but I am not sure which one I used. I thought it was the one I linked to above...

All stock sockets except headlights are BA15S. Headlights BA15D.

There is a company in England, they need to know some particulars and when I last checked, 3 bulbs, two for installation, and one spare was around $128.00. There are some other threads on this subject, lots of good info. Also, these LED's as I understand it are very bright and will do great. But, they cannot do well with poor reflectors, The silver on your reflectors has to be up to snuff too! I do not recommend what I did, I replaced the reflectors with a sealed beam kit that hides behind the Model A lens and looks OEM, but, the current draw is high and if you have an original Model A Generator, you have to up the charge to around 15 amps if you do a lot of night driving, and if you up it and drive during the day a lot, you are boiling your battery with overcharge. I bit the bullet and installed a 6v pos ground alternator! But starting on this again, I would have done the LED's got my reflectors re silvered and been done with it with real bright lights!

The headlight specs on the aliexpress site show 930 lumens, roughly equivalent to 50+32 CP. Difference is that both LEDs light on high beam, so it's more like 80/40 CP. Obviously it throws a lot of light out there. However due to the thickness of the mounting, there's a significant dead band between the two LEDs, explaining the figure-8 pattern. I'm sure they will do for most folks, but Henry's rolling.
