Re: 30's tunes
I think an ipod is some kind of new cordless record player.
I like the old cordless kind with the crank on the side. Then they took the crank away and made you look for someplace to plug it in. |

If you don't want to install anything extra on your computer, try savetube This'll get you an mp3 file which you should be able to add to your library. |

Re: 30's tunes
I run a business that restores music from LP's, 78's, Cylinders, etc.
Keep in mind that the MP3 format compress's the song and removes some sounds and dynamic range to reduce the size of the music file. The MP3 format does this to allow many songs to be stored on your device. I use CD's and keep the music in a lossless format as storage today is real cheap and the MP3 method isn't really needed. I have some great songs for the Model A that were recorded on Edison Diamond Disc records around 1928-1929. On these records, Edison finally used electric methods rather than the acoustic (no electronics) method. Marc |

Re: 30's tunes
Hello old music fans. I have a local station in my area that plays swing, big band, etc only and without commercials. You can listen on your computer at www.wkhr.org. They often take requests from all over the world. On sunday nights, they play old radio shows at 8:00 est. I think it is worth checking out!

Re: 30's tunes
Thanks for the link. We don't even have a good radio station with oldies in the Twin Cities.

Re: 30's tunes
For music of the 1920s and '30s, I listen to Radio Dismuke in my shop (on my computer) while I am working on my car:
