Very unlikely the two are related unless you are implying the water pump is seized and not allowing the engine to rotate when attempting to crank the engine.

Welcome to Fordbarn, and maybe you could give a little more information on the symptoms.

Thanks, It was running good for about 10 mins and than just quit. When I tried to re-start, it starting making a strange noise from the pump. Cranking seamed to be labored and will not start. Fan turns over freely. I am at a loss here

Take off the fan belt and try again. If the noise is still there, it was not the water pump but only sounded like it was coming from there. I had a loose cam gear that I was sure was the water pump until I took off the fan belt. I thought it was the water pump because it had so much endplay on the shaft that you could see it move fore and aft while running. Just don't run for more than a minute without a water pump running.

Take a few passes with some fine sandpaper through the points to make sure they are clean.
Check your ground from the battery to the frame assure a good ground.
