Default Autolite Heater Manifold Question

For those of you who have a Autolite manifold installed how do you change your condenser on a stock distributor? I tried to change mine this weekend and there is not enough room to get it out before it hits the waffle part of the manifold. Looks to me like the options are 1) cut a v shape in the waffle, 2) remove manifold to replace condenser, 3) pull distributor to replace condenser.

Remove the heater cover, then loosen up the distributor lock screw. raise the distributor a 1/2 inch and you will be able to remove the condenser.

I mounted my condenser to the coil as I had problems with the condenser getting too hot and braking down.
