Best head gasket
Hi Gents,
Blew my head gasket on a tour yesterday and I'd like some comments on the head gasket made by Best performs. Bratton's catalog describes it as Kevlar reinforced graphite facing material bonded to a perforated steel core. If anyone has first hand information I'd like to hear it. Thanks for your help. Al |

Re: Best head gasket
Never had a problem with the Best Graphtite head gasket. Do retoque your head after running and cooling 2-3 times.

Re: Best head gasket
Good afternoon...Also remember to re-torque your head once a year. Occasionally you will find a nut that takes 1/8 turn or so...much less work than changing a head gasket...Ernie in Arizona

Re: Best head gasket
My take Copper Only! I have had 3 graphite fail with proper torques, flat head and block. I just don't care for them,But that's me.

Re: Best head gasket
Racers that I know use the Best graphite gasket and report it is the best. Best also makes a copper gasket under the same number. I prefer copper, they are easier to change if needed. Always re-torque as stated above.
