Default 69a Stroker Engine Rebuild Completed

Last year purchased a 69a Stroker Engine good gear in it sadly the block was not water tight and also cracked in way of c/shaft through to camshaft.
Was somewhat screwed over.

However life goes on and greatly assisted by Brian Billing with the supply of a good 69a block the engine was rebuilt again correctly and just finished the other day. First test run after a 24 hrs static water test she fired right up and is a great engine.
Scat gear with Ross pistons 3 5/16" plus 30 thou with 4 1/8" stroke.
1CM camshaft, Edelbrock inlet manifold and heads, 390 Holey carb with vaccum secondaries, MSD distribuotr with mechanical and vaccum advance.
The final hurdle was sourcing a new ring set. Nil present supplies of Grant or Hastings rings till May/June.
Had a set made locally in Christchurch by Cliff Bond. Been a long process but in the end with that first start up all the bad times are history.
Always extremely grateful for kind assistance and advice recieved here.
Even my wife assisted with the cross check for TDC of No1 for fitting distributor.

It was to go in a 46 Merc Coupe. But with the screw up ended up rebuilding original engine out to 3 5/16" by 3 3/4" stroke. This goes real well.
So this Stroker Engine is a " Spare".

Think the MSD distributor is a Chev type been adapted. Its just a one wire hook up with nil external coil. So if fitted to a flathead car would need to be recurved for Ford Flathead running, springs and stops etc.
Also should the vaccum take off for the distributor be above or below carb throttle plates?
Thanks Phil NZ
