Default Ford EBU Carbureter

I have a carb. that has EBU stamped on one side and the Ford logo on the other. It has an auto choke and an iron base where the twin throats are. I don't know much about these carbs. Can anyone tell me if it can be used as a downdraft for a Model A/overhead valve conversion? If so, should I just remove the auto choke mechanism? It would be good to know what year this came from? Thank you.

Its bigger than the normal 94 and was used on 55-56 "Y" blocks..It would probebly be ok on a OHV 4 banger with some jet and power valve changes. ken ct. CORRECTION on yrs may be 54-55 model. ken ct

I believe you to be correct. And it is a 1" variety, as opposed to a .94".

I would say it's a little big for a 4 bagger. You only have 200CI or so, that carb is made for a alot larger engine. Unless you are racing and turning that engine alot faster than a regular Model A , I would surgest a 94 carb. I have a B engine in my 31 coupe with .060 bore, 206CI, and a police milled head, about 6-1 compression, 35# flywheel. Down draft intake. I was running Roschester one BBl from a 235 Chevy six. I changed to a 216 Chevy six carb(smaller ventury) and noticed the engine was alot more crispy at regular driving. It's easy to over carb these engines. Walt

According to the pics he put up it looks like a 1 1/16" on the back side not 1" .Agree with Walt, use a normal 94 like a 91-99,59,21-29 etc. wouldd be better than what you got. ken ct
