Default fuel line insulator

I'm having problems starting the car after shut down. I am going to install a carburetor insulator gasket. Taking it further and could I snap flexible plastic split wiring tubing over the fuel line running over the intake manifold to the carburetor.

If you think you have heat soak through the steel line(s), it needs an insulating wrap - https://www.heatshieldproducts.com/b...ent-vapor-lock

A one inch spacer should help a lot. Also, set the float to the lowest level the book gives, more room to percolate without overflow into the engine.

installed 1/2 carb insulator and bingo, eliminated hot engine hard start and gas odor after engine shutdown. Engine now runs better.
