I would think that cutting out the holes for the needles may be a little difficult.

I was thinking a small hole punch would do the trick.

Au contraire. I would think that the stickers are applied and then the hole is cut out with an exacto knife to match the metal backing. Contact the company and ask how it's done.

I think the exact o knife would be the way to go but, I haven’t taken anything apart yet so I’m not sure if the needles on the other gauges are removable.

No can do. Unless of course one would disassemble the gauge (remove the indictor needle) - something I try to avoid whenever possible.

I was thinking a cut from the 6 o’clock position to the area of where the shaft protrudes thru the face would be the easiest way. The cut should not show once the decal is in place. That’s my thinking anyway.

Branded, A few years ago, as best I can recall, I was able to replace the metal face of my 40 gas gauge without removing the needle by very carefully bending the tabs that hold it in place and very carefully sliding it of the case without damaging the needle. To do this you must hold the case in a small vise so it won't move and so that you can concentrate only on gauge face removal without damaging the needle. Then, once you remove the gauge face, you can apply the new decal and replace the face. Be very patient and GENTLE as these damage very easily. Maybe you could buy an old unit on Ebay and practice first. Or send it to one of the speedo guys on Fordbarn.

That’s an idea that sounds like it may work. I’ll look at how they’re assembled when I get the cluster removed. Faces may actually cleanup when I get the bezel and glass removed.

Be careful with the glass. It's thinner than the old common window pane glass.
Don't forget to take photos of what the inner workings look like, just in case.

The seller gives the excuse that they don't cut out the holes for the needles as some buyers may want to put the faces on aftermarket gauges? Why wouldn't they make them either way, with or without the holes?

I used the metal faces because I figured that would be much easier than dealing with a decal.Turned out quiet nicely.I also repainted my needles. You can get deluxe or standard.

40ford has the best solution. Much less chance of damaging your OEM gauges.
Well worth the money.

You don't have to remove any needles on the gauges to either use the decals or the replacement metal faces from Drake. If you replace the speedometer metal face then you will have to remove the speedometer needle, hold on to the inner cone shaft underneath, or hold the brass piece on the cone so it won't move and twist the needle back and forth till it comes loose then pull it off, Hold the speedometer needle around the round inner base.
I use both the decals and the metal faces, I wouldn't use the decals you posted. If you use the decals take the gauge faces off, they are crimped on then put the decal on and then trim around the opening, I use a razor blade to do cut mine. If you use the metal faces they just crimp on like the ones you take off.

Everything cleaned up pretty well, I didn’t replace any of the gauges or speedometer face. I did replace the front panel.
