Late flathead in 46 ford exhaust question
Installed an 8ba engine with a 48-52 ford truck oil pan in a 46 Ford coupe. What y-pipe and cross over pipe do I use, the truck or passenger car? (Single exhaust)

Re: Late flathead in 46 ford exhaust question
Just use the 46 manifolds and Y pipe. Last one I did, was unbolt manifolds and just let
it lay down in the frame then rebolt manifolds to the 8BA. That way you won't have to fool with pipes that every body hates. |

Re: Late flathead in 46 ford exhaust question
I put a dual exhaust on an 8BA in a 47. What a PITA, routing around the drivers side. Single, original exhaust, would be much easier.

Re: Late flathead in 46 ford exhaust question
Many years ago when I installed an 8BA in my 40. I used the 40 exhaust manifolds and the 40 cross over pipe. I may have had to "tweek" the X over pipe a little. The height of the engine mounts may produce conflict. I was using 8RT water pumps.
