50 Ford water pump removal

On a 50 Ford V8 when replacing the water pump. I have a jack under the engine and lifted the engine a little. Have removed the bolts from the motor mounts to the pump. removed the bolt in side of the pump and the other 3 are out. What is a good way to break the pump loose from the block.

With a soft hammer, tap the water inlet on each side and the back side of the pulley...Mark

Don't use a screwdriver or try to pry it off. I always tap on the thickest part of the casting.
Hitting the pulley may work but they break and bend easily. Use anti-seize on that inside bolt.

Use a dead blow hammer on the hose bib.

I got the pump off with a tap to it as suggested. The engine is in the car. I tried to put the new Water pump on and I and unable to get it on. Because there is not enough clearance to slip the pump on to the engine mount. ( I tried the old pump same thing) Hope you understand what I am trying to say. There is a jack under the engine. Do I need to unbolt the trans mount so that I can lift the engine or is there a trick to do it. Or can I take the mount off and bolt the pump on than tap the motor mount in place?

You should be able to raise the engine high enough to install the pump and then slide and tap slide the original motor mount in place. Check for firewall clearance when you raise the engine.

Does the transmission need to be unbolted?

Don't dent the oil pan. By the way, all the radiator hoses should be removed AND you should replace both pumps at the same time, not just one, even though one may not yet be leaking.
