Default Fordomatic carburetor

Hi I have a customline 1953 With fordomatic.
And im Goin to rebuild the carburetor. My cuestion is what’s the difference between a manual and fordomatic carb.
Can’t find any information abut this. Thanks in advance.

The main difference is that the carb for the automatic requires a "dash pot" on the linkage to allow a gentle return when the gas pedal is released to allow the transmission to downshift.

Geez and I always thought the dash pot was to keep it from stalling when letting off quickly on the pedal..Live and learn..

Yes, the dashpot is for preventing stalls on quick/emergency stop on cars with an auto transmission. The only differences between manual and auto trans carbs is the dashpot, dashpot bracket, and a unique throttle lever with a tab to hit the dashpot on auto trans carbs.
If you don't care about perfection, a manual trans carb will work fine (w/o dashpot).
