Default Pedals always with rubber?

Was the brake and clutch pedal bare iron or with the rubber sole from factory delivery for the '28 Standard Roadster?

As everyone has said, no pads on the pedals, but if you see original sales sheets [ Legendary Model A Ford by Peter Winnewisser & 1932 Ford Book by Dave Rehor ],nearly every new car sold in US had rubber pads fitted. These & spring covers plus tyre covers were the most common accessories for Model A at purchase, NOT stone guards, w/w tyres, toolboxes, wind wings etc, etc.! Cheers - Tom.

Did I understand that correctly:

My standard Roadster Feb. 1928 had no rubber soles on the iron pedals ex factory. But when ordering the car, could the buyer choose this part from the original Ford catalog as an option? Later years had the pedals rubber soles as standard in the basic equipment.

Correct, Your car would not have them as they were not even sold by Ford Dealers until Oct. 1928.. No Car or Truck came with them as Standard Equipment, they were sold by Dealers Only in Ford Boxes as shown above..
