I bought a 36' Sedan and the front splash panel wasn't mounted but came with the car...does it mount between the grille and the fender extension or behind the fender extension?? Thanks in advance

Not sure if it is supposed to be that way originally but I found when messing with mine recently for a trial fit that the top half fits inside the grille while the bottom half sits outside. I think that is the reason for the slit 1/2 way up the sides of the splash shield.
