In looking for the door latch spring for my '42 PU, I came across one vendor who has it listed...I googled the part number and other vendors have it listed for late '35-36 cars, but make no mention of it being for a truck.

Are they the same spring?

The springs are color coded. Can you see what color yours is?

Rusty...lol...no color left after 80 years.

I did notice the "color reference" from the vendors.

Thanks for the help, guess I may have to just take a shot and hope they work.

My 39 pickup takes a black spring. There are several designs for that spring. I don't think they are bendable/reshapeable. Hopefully someone on this net will give you the color info you need. I got mine from Fordbarn. I wrote up the single procedure for installation and posted it on Fordbarn here.

Type in NOS Door Latch Springs for 1928-1948 Ford and Mercury in the search box and see if Chuck still have the springs

Thanks Clem, the pics appear to be the same (I pulled the other assebly ouy for a look) that I saw posted...my concern was why just listed for 35/36 cars...then on another site lsted for '42+ pu's...thinking in "Henry"...if he didn't want to make a change, why would he, then change back...lol!
