Default 1940 rear drum removal

I am having trouble removing the rear drum on a 1940 ford sedan I have removed the cotter pin nut washer and gasket from the center of the drum is there something that I am missing?

I know this question is basic but I would rather ask now then wait till I should have asked

Sounds like you may be missing a hub puller.

There was a thread posted here not too long ago with drum/hub puller recommendations, pictures, etc. Click on the search function above and see if you can find it. Not sure how the subject line read on the main post but it was packed with info. Good luck, JM

I believe this is the thread you are talking about
https://www.fordbarn.com/forum/showth...ght=hub+puller

Very informative then I searched the web and found this

http://www.mindspring.com/~bozarth/id5.html

I am wondering if anyone could tell me if this one listed below for a 28-31 is the same I called the seller and he was not sure he did say that it was purchased from Winfield Tool Works the company listed in the posting above I called them and the voicemail makes me think they are no longer in business I believe it is the correct tool but if anyone knows different please let me know again thanks for all the help

Another option to try would be to replace nut and washer on axle, tighten by hand, back off a few threads, and drive car SHORT distance, make a few turns, it MIGHT loosen it up. Nothing to lose. JMO
