Ford used the T-85 starting with the 1949 Lincoln cars. It's a heavy duty 3-speed with the R11 overdrive. Ford used it clear up into the early 70s but the later ones had the nodular case and were referred to as the T-85 R11N. There were several input shafts depending on the application.

Solenoids can be found used in both 6 and 12-volt. They are available new as well but they are increasing in price as time goes by. Some say a 6-volt will work on 12 but I don't think a 12-volt will work on 6. The old ones have screw terminals on the side and the later ones & FoMoCo replacements have the vinyl covered wire coming through the bottom cap. Most of the Borg Warner systems used the same type solenoid. There are only a few exceptions to that. This link explains some of the odd differences by application.
