Default Original Hand Wiper Blade

So I got an original handwiper that was made by trico for my roadster. The only problem is, it needs a new piece of rubber for the blade. Has anybody ever replaced the rubber in an original? It is in beautiful shape so I really don't want to just hang it on the wall or something.

The vendors sell complete blades. https://www.snydersantiqueauto.com/wiper-blade

Are you wanting to keep the original metal section?

Yes I do want to keep it because if I replace it it won't match the patina on the original part.

I picked up the rubber refill for a window washing squeege at a True Value store and it fit the original metal piece perfectly.

The original wiper has 2 pieces of Black rubber. Go to a supply house that sells
rubber products and cut some.
If you need the size,..let me know..

I've got a 29ccpu. I picked up a manuel wiper at local used parts supplier who lives less than a mile from me ( lucky me) it had a worn out blade in a crome blade holder. I replaced it with a model t hand wiper replacement blade. It is painted black like the commercial parts are.

I was ways pleased how effective this wiper was in my '29 CCPU. Never missed a motor.

Don't forget there are two different lengths of these. One for open cars, one for trucks.

Did you mean blade length, or the part of the operating handle shaft that fits through the window frame. The trucks run through a tube, so they are longer than my Phaeton, which only runs through two holes in the round frame. Since this gives the shaft very little support, my hand wiper is too sloppy to be useful.

The blades are the same.

Commercial hand wipers are 5 5/8" for the outside arm, and 2 7/16" where it passes through the windshield.

Open cars are 6 3/8" on the outside arm and 1 3/8" where it passes though the windshield.

If I get a chance I'll pull mine out for a picture later.
