On my end of the country, if they are compete and depending on condition, 10 - $25 for 94's and 35 - $60 on 97's. The 1 1/16" Holley 2100's, 5 - $10 more.

I must've missed the memo. 97 cores are going for $100 and up, hereabouts.

I agree that the 97's do bring more money than a 94. Hard to find a 97 complete and rebuildable for less than $100. At least from my experience. I don't pay more than $50 for a complete, rebuildable 94 type carb including shipping if it applies.

97's are always 100 and up here in the midwest. 94's sit on the table with no buyers

I’ll take those 94’s that nobody wants , they don’t have the “cool” factor of the 97’s,
But they run just fine for me!

I agree the 94's weren't the original flathead hot rod or multi carb choice like the 97's were, but the 94's do work fine and are one of the easiest carbs to work on.

I've never had good luck running multi carbs with 94's. 97's were bringing $125 a piece here in the northeast a few years ago, but lately they've been going for less than $100 for decent ones. Guys still asking $125 are bringing them home.

I don't mess with Chandler-Groves, but I'd buy all the 97's I could find for $35-60. I've never found any that cheap though. Around these parts they go for $100 and up.

A side note on the history of 97s preference over 94s: Hot Rodders of old were limited to 97's due to the early design of dual manifolds, the 97 being narrower front to back. For a pair of 94's to mount on an early manifold, the front airhorn mounting screw had to be shaved for clearance. This ugly modification (uncool) in itself can account for a goodly number of 94s going unsold at swap meets, together with the inaccurate assumption by some that this mod may still need to be done on 94 multi carb setups.

I thought I got a good deal on a Weiand "4 in a row" for my early Chrysler Hemi, because I knew I had 4 94's that I would be using on it. Nope, wouldn't fit without the above ugly (and potentially leaky) modification. I was then faced with finding 4 matching (large logo, small logo, no logo, "LZ" logo, "D" base, regular base, forget the 48's and 81's) and rebuilding them. My "good deal" turned out to be pretty expensive in the end.

Any one with some extra small parts? The special screw for the accelerator pump arm, and the one on the rt side of the carb for all the linkage. iIneed 1 of each.

thanks,

jim
